~My Dotty Swap Project~

Finally, I am able to share with you the items that I made for my part of the Dotty Swap party held by Cutie Pie Cottage!

The requirements were three items and, of course, dots!  Jenny's favorite colors are red, pink and aqua.

Jenny has a fur baby named Cody and so I made him a "bony" wall plaque to hold his leash.

Large, oversized pocket potholders (big enough that her hubby could use!).  I forgot to take a picture of the contrasting fabric on the back, which happens to be stripes.  You know, in all my years of sewing I have never made potholders!  It was fun and I plan to make more.

And, lastly, the polka-dot cupcake liners wrapped with polka dot ribbon.   I had never really noticed before but there are so many cute ones out there and it was definitely hard to choose which ones I wanted.

I'm glad to say that Jenny loved the items that I gave her and that is the best part of all.

Now I'm off to do some grocery shopping...in the rain.  Sigh...but at least our pantry will be full again!

Have a happy day~

I knew it! I knew you would make something just adorable! She's so fortunate! Everything was so pretty that you made. I want to make one of those dog bone leash holders. When you have minute could you briefly just tell me how you did it? I've never made potholders either but those were darling! Did you use a pattern? You are so talented. Thank you for sharing! BTW...I love polka dots! So glad they're popular again.

Sam~I ordered the bones that are made of wood. I will be adding these to my Etsy store. If you are interested, I can make one for you. And I used my "store bought" pot holders as a pattern. I'm making some of those to put in my Etsy store as well.

Hello dear Velma,
Your pot holders are so pretty and the dog leash holder is super sweet! I can see why the person on the receiving end of these gifts liked them so much. They are wonderful.

Hi Velma-

No wonder Jenny loved her gifts. They are all so pretty and practical. Polka dots are so "happy" they always bring a smile to my face. Those bright potholders are very nice! And I'm loving those cupcake liners. I normally buy the solid colored traditional ones because I'm cheap, but I love all the fun styles and prints these days.

Thanks for linking to my party this week.

By the way, you asked on my recipe blog what <3 meant....I didn't know until I stared at it for a long time. It's Internet slang for "heart" or "love". If you look at it close enough, it kind of forms a heart shape.

It all looks wonderful, but those potholders - oh my gosh! Red, pink, green, yellow and Rick-rack! Just doesn't get any better than that!

I'm impressed with your sewing skills. I too have never made pot holders. They are adorable, and the leash holder and cupcake liners are totally adorable.

Hi Velma. Just a quick note to tell you I’ve nominated you for a “Versatile Blog Award”!

Don’t know what that means? Well, neither did I when I received this award last week from a fellow blogger named Isobel (http://coldhamcuddliescalling.blogspot.com/) in Warminster, Wiltshire, United Kingdom. I, of course, wanted to know more, so I did some research. I found a website that helped a lot. I also began to notice, as I surfed around, the “Versatile Blog Award” button on some blogs I was visiting. Visit my blog to see the announcement of your blog as a recipient of this award.

Why you, you may ask? Just because, I say! Because your blog caught my attention and inspired me in some fashion. It might have been the way you write, the great photos you take, or the fact that you motivate me to act, to be. Perhaps it was the look and feel of your blog overall. Maybe because you seemed genuine in some way, not self-serving, and not necessarily writing to accumulate “followers”, but rather with passion. Whatever my reason, a good chance for me to say “thanks” for delighting me through your blog!

Karen
