The flowerbed on the south side of the house is a sorely neglected area much to my dismay. We have been fortunate to have very loamy soil in most areas making weeding and gardening an easy job. But not here. The weeds were getting out of hand and it was time to get to cleaning but I needed to wet the soil down some. Time to set up the ol' sprinkler!
Tater Tot and Bubba were spending the night and the temptation to play was just too much for them. Since it was a rather balmy evening...in the 80s...we let them indulge.Let the squealing and laughter begin. And, getting soaking wet, of course.
Bubba was so entranced with how the water felt on his hands that I don't think he realized he was in the arc of the water and not getting wet.
Tater Tot, on the other hand, wouldn't be still long enough for me to snap a picture!
You know what they say. While in Rome....
You wouldn't know it by the expressions on their faces, but they had a grand time getting drenched and flitting around in the yard like water bugs. Time for the party to end and go in for their baths. More water, but not quite as much fun.
We're supposed to get some drenching this weekend but it won't be coming from the sprinkler. A good way to end the month I must say.
Have a glorious weekend~

Such happy moments and the cutest photos!
Oh they are adorable and the look on their faces is priceless. Simple joys. The hose and some buckets are all my little one needs on a hot day too.
Oh, what lovely and happy photos!! Such fun, and sweet cuties!! xo Heather
WAY TOO CUTE!!! What fun. :)
They really got into it didn't they?
Melinda
They are so cute! Brings back memories of my kids when they were little. I tell them now as parents that when their kids get cranky just give them some water,,,sprinkler, bath, kitchen sink.....it soothes them just like a hot bath does for me. Thanks for the pictures....how precious. You're a lucky Grandma! And they are obviously...lucky Grandchildren to have you.
Ahhh...I miss my grands at that age! I want that stage back again. Unfortunately, it's not possible, I know.
Your grands are having such a good time in the photos, thanks for sharing a bit of your sweet life.
Love and hugs, Cindy
Cute photos. They looked like they had a lot of fun. Kids usually do in a sprinkler. I love the names Tatertot and Bubba. LOL. Nice to meet you.

It doesn't get any better than a dip in the sprinkler...even better that the roses are in the back. Smiles...Renee
Such sweet photos Velma! These shots are going to be really great to look back on some day! A perfect evening with your grandbabies.
Erica :)
Good Morning Velma..
They are adorable.
Making memories to last a life time.
Thanks for this lovely post.
Made me remember when our children were little and would ask if they could run through the sprinkler.
Simple joys!!
Velma, what could be more fun than playing in water on a hot day? They looked like happy campers for certain! The photos remind me of times when my cousins would come for a visit and we screamed and laughed playing in the spray of the sprinkler for hours. Those were the good old days. Your grands will have happy memories of days at your house doing the same thing.------- Shannon
Oh that is sooo cute! I remember when we got to play in the sprinkler as kids, I never see kids running through the sprinkler anymore...hum? Something they will remember forever!
Carol
All kids seem to love playing in the sprinkler! I remember doing it myself - a LONG time ago! LOL
Looks like they had a blast!
