We had already spent a fair amount of time at the front of the house picking 'flowers'. They were everywhere! Yay. After gathering enough to make a small bouquet to put in a plastic drinking cup, it was time to harvest some more around the other side of the house.
Sister would gather a fist full at a time while brother would pick one at a time and bring it to me.
See, Mammer? (that's me) I brought you another flower.
Sister, on the other hand, has something else in mind for her fist full of flowers. Looks like she's on a mission.
She spotted a gopher hill. Yep, we've got those everywhere, too. A perfect spot for planting her newly picked flowers.
Why do you want to plant them for?
She admires her handiwork but is a bit frustrated because they won't stand upright for her.
While sister isn't looking, brother decides to lend a helping hand. Just stomp those babies right into the ground! Sigh...just like a man.
All the while, baby is sitting patiently while Mama does her work.
I'd rather be playing with my truck anyway.
Bubba thought it was pretty cool that he could see his truck from underneath.
Tater Tot wants to have some quality time with baby and what better way than to take her for a ride on the steer head.
Here, sister, I'll hold him for you while you get on.
I'm sure that Tater Tot is telling baby all the advantages of riding a steer and how much fun it is.
It's okay, baby. Mama's got you.
Heaven forbid that you stay at any one place for very long! It's off to the slides with baby in tow, of course.
Whew, this playing is hard work!
Time to do a little digging and cleaning in the flower bed. I've got to get Poppa to build them a sandbox!
Hmmm....why is there a fireplace outside when you've got a perfectly good one in the house?
This little guy never ceases to amaze me. You can almost see the wheels turning in his head as he's staring at the partly burned logs. Not necessarily to play with them, but wondering how they got that way. That's the way he thinks. He will stare intently at something for a long time, turning it over and around with his hands, wondering how it works, how it is put together, etc. Do you think he's going to be an engineer?
Big sister, not so much. She's off to 'working' in the yard with baby close at her side.
So many adventures to be had in the yard, but then it was time for lunch, a little bit of cartoon watching and a much needed nap. For all of us!

Just too cute - I see the same wheels turning when my 3 yr. old grandson, Jack, is analyzing something, too. So nice when learning and discovering are such fun!
I laughed wehn you said you ALL needed naps!
Hello dear Velma,
It looks like your two little darlings were having a very good time at Mammer's house.
Little ones are so precious, seeing your photos took me back a couple of years to when my youngest grands were that age. How blessed you are, dear lady.
Hugs, Cindy
