I have noticed that some bloggers are having swap parties. I think they would be so much fun and a way to get to know other bloggers but, up until recently, the only ones that I read about involved card and tag making. I love these tags but I don't have the time to add another craft to my already batch of bulging craft projects.
A few weeks ago, I read that Holly at Cutie Pie Cottage was having a dotty swap party. Finally, my chance to get in on a fun party! So, I threw my name in the hat and got paired up with Jenny at Jenny's Heart.
After learning about her likes, interests, hobbies and family, I was able to come up with three different items with a dotty theme...the requirements. It was fun trying to come up with some things that I thought she would enjoy...almost like Christmas! I am going to get them in the mail today once I get the final details done. I want to show them to you but I don't want to ruin the surprise. Once I know she has them in hand, I'll do the big reveal.
My question is...do you get involved in swap parties? Do you have your own swap party? If you have, what was the most fun one that you participated in? Does anyone have swap parties on a regular basis? I'd love your thoughts about them and, of course, any recommendations.
I think this is a fun idea and something I would love to get involved with every now and then. But I need something other than card/tag making. :)
Now, I've got to get to crafting!
Blessings~

How fun Velma! Of course, you'll get something from someone too right? I've not done any as I have a hard enough time keeping up with just reading the blogs. But there are all kinds. Especially on www.maryjanesfarm.com in her chat room there are ones for potholders, aprons, crochet, knitting...all kinds! It does sound like fun and who doesn't like getting surprises in the mail! I can't wait to see what you sent and get! How exciting!

Hi Velma..
I've not participated in any 'swap parties'.
I have done a couple of swaps though.
Usually, a blog buddy will email me and ask if I'd like to do a swap with her.
It's a lot of fun....
but, sometimes I stress over doing a good enough swap :)
Velma, I love swap parties because they make me push the limits of my skills. Where I might just stay stuck in a path of comfort, swaps help me find more inspiration. I try to mix it up and do a little of all of them but my favorite are those that are themed. For instance an Initial swap, Dotty swap. I loved these. Have a great evening. Smiles...Renee
Never done a swap party before, but I was involved in a post card exchange. It was fun getting postcards from all over the country. :) (you would get as many as you sent out)
My window seat is going to be so pretty....at least I hope so. I can see it in my head and hope it turns out that way in real life. :) The drawers are built for me, but I'll still have to work on them, build little wings to connect them to the cabinets, build tops, crown molding and all that other stuff, so it'll still be a big job. (but I'm excited!)
Talk to ya later!
Missy
I'll let you know about any that I find :)
I've done lots of swaps! Some personal some party themed. There is a swap blog out there somewhere but I tend to stick with people I know or at least a friend of a friend. My first swap was a filled Christmas stocking swap! That was fun because I'm just a little girl at heart and I missed having a stocking!
I'll let you know if I hear of any other swaps. ♥
